Thereâs this momentâalways quiet and sneakyâwhere I catch myself clinging to a problem like itâs my job to fix it... even when I know I canât. Sound familiar? Itâs that mental loop we keep replaying, trying to rewrite outcomes with âwhat ifsâ and âshould haves.â But hereâs what Iâve learned the hard way: holding on to what we canât control only adds weight we were never meant to carry.
When I finally started practicing actual letting goânot just saying it but living itâI felt something shift. My energy returned. My mind cleared. The present moment showed up like a long-lost friend. Letting go isnât giving up; itâs giving yourself back the freedom to breathe, move, and grow without chains made of worry.

The âRelease Ritualâ for Mental Clarity
Hereâs a quick technique I call the âRelease Ritual.â Every evening before bed, I take 3 minutes to write down one thing that bothered me during the dayâand then I write one sentence starting with, âBut I choose to release it because...â
For example: Today, I felt ignored during a meeting. But I choose to release it because carrying that frustration won't change what happened, and I deserve peace tonight. Simple? Yes. Silly? Maybe. Powerful? Absolutely. This tiny mental cleanse keeps emotional clutter from piling up, and I sleep easier knowing Iâve honored the emotion without becoming it.
