💓 Motivation in Motion

Mildred “Babe” Didrikson Zaharias

(June 26, 1911–September 27, 1956)

She was an extraordinary athlete who broke barriers in nearly every sport she touched: basketball, baseball, track and field, and golf.

At the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, she won two gold medals (in javelin, with a world-record throw, and the 80 m hurdles, again setting a world record) and a controversial silver in the high jump.

Later, she dominated women’s golf, winning 82 tournaments! Including 10 major championships! And then co-founding the Ladies Professional Golf Association in 1949.

Babe’s story is about boldness, resilience, and refusing to be limited by expectation...on the track, on the green, and in life.

🧘 Self Care in Action

Exploring the world of herbal remedies can be both nurturing and empowering.

After getting a copy for ourselves, we decided to share it with you.

Recently, Charlene was experiencing digestive issues. Between this book and another in our reference library, she learned that dandelion tea can be a good for calming the digestion system. Following the guideline in the book, she did make herself some dandelion and tea and reports that all is well.

This particular booklet is free and offers insights into natural antibiotics, pain relief, and therapeutic herbs. Definitely an excellent place to begin if you're just starting your journey into herbal remedies.

Minnesota’s White Earth Nation celebrated a very cool milestone this week...

a first home-born bison calf!

Born to their thriving bison program near Naytahwaush.

This joyful event symbolizes ecological restoration and cultural healing, reconnecting the community with a sacred relative and strengthening ancestral bonds.

Barbara says "I'll admit that it took me a little bit to really start to get into this book, but, once I did, it took me on a real roller coaster ride. Beautifully written, characters wonderfully fleshed out, and then the story of the library itself! I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm overcome by my emotions."
