This quote feels like a warm nudge from a friend who knows youâre carrying way too much. Itâs a reminder that we donât always have to analyze or fix everything. Sometimes, the simplest filter for decision-making is this: Does this make me feel lighter or heavier? And Iâll tell you whatâthese days, Iâm only picking up what feels like joy.
Being mindful doesnât mean tolerating what drains us just because we âshould.â It means paying attention to how people, tasks, and even our own thoughts make us feel in the moment. If it dims your light, it might not belong. If it sparks a smile, let that be your cue to lean in and stay a while.

Letâs talk about the power of the âemotional inventoryââbut donât worry, no spreadsheets required. At the end of the day, before I scroll, snack, or spiral (weâve all been there), I ask myself one simple thing: What lifted me up today, and what wore me out? This daily pause helps me notice patterns without judgment. Like, why does replying to that one client feel like dragging a bag of wet laundry up a hill, while coaching a new VA makes me feel like BeyoncĂŠ on a good hair day?
You donât have to fix it all at once. Just notice. Awareness gives you choice. And choice, my friend, is where freedom lives. Maybe tomorrow, you say no to the call that zaps your spirit and say yes to the walk, the stretch, or the five-minute dance break in your kitchen that brings you back to yourself. That, right there, is mindfulness in action.
So before you shut down your laptop tonight, breathe deep and ask: What do I want to keep, and what can I gently leave behind? You might be surprised how much peace that one little practice brings.
